All Natrual II
So, I told you all about my baby who loves to be naked butt. Well this has turned into quite an obsession with her. I have tried putting her diapers on backward so she cannot reach the tabs, it did not work, she figured that out too. So yesterday she gave me a "Rugrats and Dirty Rugs" story, because it just sounds like it would happen to Dee. I went in to get her from her nap. She was still in her p.j.'s which did not have pants. She had taken off her diaper and poopied in her bed. I think I went in right after she did it, because she hadn't played in it, thank God. So, take her out, put her a new diaper on. Later I went to bible study and daddy stayed home with her, they were not feeling well, and when he went to the restroom, she took her diaper off and pottied in her playpen. What to do, what to do? See it just sounds like something that Dee would write about.

Downward spiral.
Today I am on a downward slope. I miss my friend. I tried calling her, and she called me back, but I missed her call. Bummer. My mood is just blah, I bet I will be praying a lot today, more than most. Anyway, That is all for now. chow.

On this day!!
For some reason today I seem to be reflecting on my past, and present, and what a different feeling about myself, and life in general, than I have had in the past. God has certainly changed my life in these past 9 years, and I know more is to come. I remember growing up and just going along, maybe driving my family crazy cause I talked a lot when I was a kid, not really getting into trouble, too often, I had a couple a problems. Who am I kidding? A lot of problems. But what I think about today are my children, and what a different life they have, in so many ways, and how in a lot of ways, it is kind of the same. I still struggle with Gods will, and sometimes I have a hard time just shutting up to pray. But I know because Jesus died for me, I have a chance for redemption. All those bad things I did, and still do, God forgives me because of Jesus. All the bad things my children and husband do, they are forgiven. We are forgiven because Jesus died for us. I write that and think, he did not JUST die for us, he was tortured, and hurt; stabbed, beaten, humiliated, and Nailed for us. All so you and I can go to heaven. I know that sounds simple to some, and for some you know it is not. It is a constant thing in a Christians life, pray, change and evaluate; pray, change and evaluate; pray, change and evaluate. We will never be perfect like Christ, but we are called to be better all the time. To be more Christlike in all we do. To serve, knowing we will never be good enough. That is why Jesus died for me, and you. I have more hope now, knowing that the past does not really matter, as long as I have learned from it, and I must say I learned a lot about what not to do. I know that God has a plan for me, and my family, and we must submit to his will. And everyday my walk with God gets better. I know I almost have a childlike view about this, but in a lot of ways, I am still a child in my Christianity. My understanding grows, and I think that is what is important. I get stronger in my faith, and I can pass that on to my kids, friends, family, and let Gods grace shine through me, or try my best anyway, and learn more, and try harder. I am debating whether I am going to post this or not. It sounds a little silly, but this is what I am thinking about, and really looking forward to church today, being in Gods house on the Lords day, and hearing how Jesus died and rose for me. Happy Easter. But remember Him everyday, not just today.

Something freaky about 9-11
Okay so my husband showed me this, and I HAVE to share it with you. It is really crazy, especially the end.
1)New York City has 11 letters
2)Afghanistan has 11 letters.
3) Ramsin Yuseb (the terrorist who threatened to destroy the Twin Towers in 1993) has 11 letters.
4) George W. Bush has 11 letters
This could be coincidence, but this gets more interesting:
1) New York is the 11th state.
2) The first plane crashing against the Twin Towers was flight #11
3) Flight 11 was carrying 92 passengers. 9+2=11
4) Flight 77 which also hit Twin Towers, was carrying 65 passengers. 6+5=11
5) The tragedy was on September 11, or 9/11 as it is now known. 9+1+1=11.
6) The date is equal to the US emergency services telephone number 911. 9+1+1=11.
Sheer coincidence?! Keep reading, there is more.
1) The total number of victims inside all the hijacked planes was 254. 2+5+4=11
2) September 11 is day number 254 of the calendar year. Again 2+5+4=11
3) The Madrid bombing took place on 3/11/2004. 3+1+1+2+4=11
4) The tragedy of Madrid happened 911 days after the Twin Towers incident.
Now this is where things get totally eerie:
The most recognized symbol for the US, after the Stars and Stripes, is the Eagle. The following verse is taken from the Quran, the Islamic holy book:
"For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced: for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah and there was peace." That verse is number 9.11 of the Quran. (I do not know this for sure, I am taking the word of this person who wrote this.) Unconvinced about all of this Still?
Try this and see how you feel afterwards, it freaked me out, a little, but it was still a huge shock.
Open Microsoft Word and do the following:
1) Type in with cap lock on; Q33 NY. (just like I did) This is the flight number of the first plane to hit one of the Twin Towers.
2) Highlight the Q33 NY.
3) Change the font size to 48.
4) Change the actual font to the WINGDINGS ( if you have 3 types of wingdings, it is just the reg. wingdings.)
So go do it. Stop reading and go check that out. What did I say, stop reading.
why are you still reading, go hurry do it now. It is crazy!!!!

The importance of teaching water and electronics, spells no, no.
I was sitting and doing my 4 year olds hair, I have a spray bottle that I use. So the timer goes off for the laundry. I leave my 9 year old and 4 year old for about 5 minutes playing monopoly (kind of) and head down to switch to the dryer. When I came back my 4 year old is hiding and my 9 year old is telling me that my 4 year old has sprayed daddies t.v. and now the sound is not working. Oh my gosh!!! I proceed by telling her how lucky she is that she did not get electrocuted or that it did not start a fire, and then she had to go sit in timeout, and now she has to tell daddy when he gets home what she did. And out of all of it, telling daddy is the worst part for her. Well the t.v. is going back and forth, I can hear something and then nothing. And it keeps changing channels on its own. So now I am going to go on free cycle and see if anyone out there may have one my husband can have. As much as I do not like the t.v., because it distracts me too much, it is my husbands down time, and I am trying real hard to respect it. So off I go. And my poor baby keeps saying, "he won't love me anymore," which I think she knows better, she is just a major drama-mama!!!!

Lumps!
I had my appointment yesterday to check a lump I found. She said it was probably nothing but I am going for an ultrasound on it tomorrow. I am trying really hard not to think about it, because I really do think it is nothing, but my mind keeps saying "what if it is something?"
Here is my positive spin, in high school I wanted to shave my head, yeah crazy huh? So if it is something, and I have to do chemo, at least if I lose my hair than I would get to experience the baldness I once wanted. I am not going to say the negative. Anyway, pray for me, please. It is very hard not to think about. I do not know enough of my family history to know if anyone in my family has had breast cancer, at least I am only going to have to be paranoid about it for 1 day. I will let you know what the doc. says. I just keep telling myself, don't worry, it is nothing. But what if just creeps right back in. Sigh, and Pray.

I found this on the Deo Velonte site, linked at right. She is a strong christian woman over there, hats off to her. If you want to find out why I say that hop on over and read her profile, and stuff. Anyway, I am thinking about making these with my girls. It just sounds like a really nice lesson, with a little fun involved.

Dyson Contest
Hi ya' all. I just wanted to tell you all about a contest that 5 minutes for mom is having. (Follow the link at the right) They are giving away one of the new Dyson vacuums. I guess Dyson just gave them one to give away. It is the new Dyson Slim, $470.00 value. Pretty sweet. I could certainly use that. Moneys tight and every time I use mine it starts to smell. I think a new belt would help, but mine is a couple years old, and kids that have hair to their bottoms certainly makes it work overtime. Anyway, hop on over and add your name to the list. Who knows you could be the one to win it. On second thought you could pretend you never read this, better my chances of getting picked. Just kidding, Go check it out, and Good Luck.

The Complaint Free World, By The Complaint Free Church
I just wanted to tell you all about this, I think it is such a cool and great idea. Rev. Will Bowen, ummmm I forgot his church's name, gave a sermon one Sunday about complaining and he handed out these purple bracelets that say "A Complaint Free World." The challenge associated with the bracelet is this; you put it on one wrist and if you catch yourself complaining you switch wrists. You want to leave it on one wrist for 21 days. I think it is a neat, visual aide to help us remember the blessings that God has bestowed on us, and try harder to forget about the negative. Well not forget, but to get us to see just how often we let those little annoyances come up, and maybe make us conscious of the fact that we do it to much. Lord knows I need one. I KNOW I complain to much. Anyway if you are interested this site www.thecomplaintfreechurch.org is giving them away. You may make a donation if you wish, but it is not necessary. They send an envelope with the bracelets, or you can donate via credit card on the site. It is such a neat idea.
PeaceMaker- Chapt. 5-12
After finishing this book, I thought the last 7 chapters were very identical to the first 5. The focus shifted between the 4 G's but other than that they were pretty much the same. It was an alright read. I also had to take it back to the library. Now I am reading "Blessing Your Husband" by Debra Evans. In this book so far it says that woman expect way to much out of their husband. For example, we want them to be totally understanding, totally loving, have unending patience, etc., etc. Now maybe I am just in denial but I would like to have those things every once in a while. I know my husband is not perfect, I cannot even do those things daily all the time, so why would I expect him to. I don't know how I feel about this book yet. I will tell you more about it as I read it. Alrighty then, TTFN

A Tribute
Hello again. I want to write about someone who is special today. Many of you who read my blog know her and I know you all can agree. This girl came into my life a couple of years ago. Normally I have a hard time opening up with people but for some reason I just felt a connection with her, and I did not struggle. Ever since the first time we had dinner together she never gave up on me. She accepted my little quirks, and did not judge me as the flake I can be. Thank God :) This Woman has showed me things that she probably does not even know about. I know it is hard to be a mommy and a housewife, I often make the joke that she was bred to do it. She pulls out all the stops for things and she makes it seem so effortless, most the time. She is always smiling and a joy to be around. She is a great sister in Christ and I am so glad that God brought her into my life. Today will probably be the last time I see her, and as I write this I am starting to get a bit teary eyed. I will miss her dearly, and I wonder if I will ever see her and her family again. I guess these are the things I would like to say to her, but I would probably stumble my way through or just cry and not say any of it, but I know she will read this and know that she is a great friend. I just did not say it enough. She is strong, and happy, and a great woman. God has certainly blessed anybody who has been touched by this woman. She is a light for me and has helped me see things about myself that needed to be seen. I thank her for that, and God. God put her with us for these 2 years and I think she has helped change so much. So for all of you, if you know her, don't forget to say goodbye. And for those of you who do not know her, I wish you could. Whether or not you have someone like this in your life pray God can give you a friend like her. She is awesome. Now, just in case my other friends are thinking "what about me," I do have a lot of Great friends that the Lord has brought into my life, and maybe I can show my other friends how much they mean to me. This particular person has helped me see that I can just be me, and people will at least like me. I lost site of that for a while. But to my friend, I am so sad that you are leaving, it will just not be the same without you. I will miss you dearly, and you will be in my prayers daily. Thank you for being there for me when I needed you, and I hope that I was there for you sometimes too. God has big plans for you I am sure, and if anyone can do it, I know you can. God Bless you, and I love you my dear friend!

All Natrual.
I went to the store the other day, and my husband kept the kids, and when I got back my oldest told me that the baby took her diaper off, again. She told daddy and when he went to get the baby she was waving the diaper over her head and just smiling. 2 out of the 3 girls are fascinated being "naked butt," our oldest daughter is not. The 2 youngest would love to be able to run around bare. If it weren't for the fall, they would get their way. Hee, hee.
Chapter 4- Is this really worth fighting over?
This chapter really focused on overlooking offenses. Sometimes things are so minor they do not need to be argued about. So here is his summary:
"There are many conflicts that require a lot of time and effort to resolve. But there are far more that can be resolved simply by overlooking minor offenses or relinguishing rights for the sake of God's kingdom. Terefore, before focusing on your rights, take a careful look at your responsibilities. Before you go to remove the speck from your brothers eye, ask yourself, "Is this really worth fighting over?""
This makes me think of dealing with our children, choose your battles with them, choose your battles with others. Well I will write more in a couple more days, about this book.

Chapter 3- Trust in the Lord and do good.
For the next 3 chapters, just so I can get caught up, I am going to write the summary from the book. I have been reading a few different books at the same time, but I can tell you that chapter 6 from this book is really good. So, the summary from chapter 3 says:
"When you are involved in a conflict you to must decide whether or not you will trust God. Trusting God does not mean believing that he will do all that you want, but rather believing that he will do everything he knows is good. If you do not trust God,you will inevitably place your trust in yourself or another person, which ultimately leads to grief. On the other hand, if you believe that God is sovereign and that he will never allow anything into your life unless it can be used for good, you will see conflicts not as accidents but as opportunities. This kind of trust glorifies God and inspires the faithfulness needed for effective peacemaking."
I can tell you that this is very hard. To put full trust in the Lord and letting His will guide you and not knowing exactly what He has planned for you, it is so hard to remember that He is not going to let anything bad happen without good reason. What I think is bad, is just a tool of the Lords, so we can glorify him. One friend has told me several times there is nothing new under the sun, meaning that nothing we face is new to God, He has seen it all. It is all very interesting. So come back in a couple days and I will have Part 2- Get the Log out of your own eye, Chapter 4 Is this really worth fighting about?

The Upward Call
I want to send everyone to http://theupwardcall.blogspot.com to read her post "Small and Great." I wish I could remember this ALL the time.
Chapter 2- Live at Peace
This chapter of course is all about Peace. There are 3 dimensions of peace. Peace with God, made possible by God through the giving of his son, Jesus Christ, so we could have eternal life. Peace with others, God calls us to "live at peace with everyone." (Rom. 12:18) The bible refers to this kind of peace as unity. Just seeing the goodwill of between people, does not mean the absence of conflict or strife. The third dimension of peace is Peace within yourself. "Through Jesus you can experience genuine peace within yourself." This book says that if you do not have peace with God and others, you cannot experience peace within yourself, "internal peace is a by product of righteousness." Internal peace cannot be obtained by anything we do, it is a gift from God to those who believe in Jesus, and obey His commandments. ( A few scripture verses that support 1 John 3:21-24, Isa. 26:3, Isa 32:17,) By Gods choice these 3 dimensions of peace come together. You cannot have one without the other. (1 John 2:23)
The next part of this is titled, "Jesus' reputation depends on unity." Can I just say that, that alone makes me feel weird. Do I really have a great deal to do with Jesus' reputation? I understand what the guy is trying to say, but couldn't he have titled it, Christianities reputation depends on unity? Anyway, what he says is if there is peace and unity in our relationships, more people would take our witness seriously, they would see God present and working in our lives. If there is always conflict and turmoil, then people are less likely to listen to your witness. Many times is this pointed out throughout the bible, the whole unity and peace, even when Jesus was praying before he was hung on the cross, he prayed for unity for all who believed and who would believe. ( John 17:20-23) (more scripture about peace and unity Matt. 5:21-24, 1 Peter 2:12) Peace and unity among us is so important that Jesus says to reconcile before we worship. (1 John 4:19-21)
The enemy of peace is next. Who else could this be but Satan. Anything to stand in the way. Did you know that Satan means adversary. I am sure some of you did, but I did not. Anyway, "Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." (1 Peter 5:8) Satan disrupts unity in so many ways, like tempting us with selfishness, greed, dishonesty. (Acts 5:3, 1 Tim. 4:1-3) He uses unresolved anger as a tool. (Eph. 4:26-27) Satan likes it if we do not see him as some of the cause of conflict. As long as we only see each other as the problem and continue to attack one another we do not think about guarding against him. Do not take that wrong, I know you know it is not all Satan, but us and a lot of sin too. (James 4:7, 1 Peter 5:9) In Ephesians 6, Paul gives a warning about this, he also tells what "weapons" to use against it, "truth, righteousness, the gospel, faith, Scripture, and prayer." The apostles speak a lot in their epistles about peace because it is so important. They all have a command in them to live at peace with each other. (Rom. 15:5-7, 1 Cor. 1:10, Gal. 5:19-22, Col. 3:13 & 15, 1 Thess. 5:13-15) Paul also says that unity and peace is not uniformity, that there is nothing wrong with differing opinions on "disputable matters." It is when it takes away the "harmony and peace, that there is work to be done." (Eph. 4:7-13, 1 Cor. 12:12-31, Rom. 14-1) Paul goes on to say that slandering, anger, etc. really grieves God. (Eph. 4:29-31) So knowing that we are to "be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." ( Eph. 4:32)
Next is lawsuits among believers. 1 Corinthians 6 talks thoroughly about this. It pretty much tells Christians to settle things in the church. If they need mediation to go to the church. The church can suggest things that the judicial courts would not think of. More peaceful resolutions that will work good for both parties involved.
All and all another good chapter, I just hope that I never have to deal with the lawsuit part, or ever let something happen that would get that bad. :) Sorry it took me so long to get this one up. I am already to chapter 5, but finding time to write about it is another thing all together. Anyone with kids will sympathize.
5:13-15) Paul also says that unity and peace is not uniformity, that there is nothing wrong with differing opinions on "disputable matters." Peace Maker, Chapter 1- Conflict Provides Opportunities
I would just like to say that anything I put in quotation marks is quoted straight out of the book, and all scripture verses referred to are also recommended from the author.
So in the first chapter, conflict is described as a slippery slope. That it is!! In the "Slippery slope of conflict" people usually respond in 3 different ways. My pastor actually preached about this last Sunday. The first is Escape Responses- Suicide, Flight, and Denial. These are on the left side of the slippery slope. On the right side of the slippery slope are the Attack Responses- Murder, Litigation, and Assault. In the middle we find the Peacemaking Responses, which go from left to right; Overlook, Reconciliation, Negotiation, Mediation, Arbitration, and Accountability.
Now, we look a little deeper into each response. On the far left is the escape responses. The people who lean towards these responses are normally more interested in avoiding than solving the conflict. So they normally do one of the 3 things: Denial-"simply refuse to do what should be done to resolve a conflict." (recommended scripture from author Gen. 16:1-6;1 Sam. 2:22-25) Up next, Flight- Of course this is to run away. If you quit a job, quit talking to a friend, etc., this normally only postpones a solution to the problem. (Gen. 16:6-8) Sometimes it is okay if you need to calm down. Flight can also be okay if you are in danger. (1 Sam. 19:9-10) The last and final "escape" is Suicide- We all know what this is. The ultimate escape, or ultimate cry for help. (1 Sam. 31:4)
Attack Responses are used by people who are more interested in winning than keeping a relationship. Assault- Can be to overcome the other by verbal or physical attacks, or damaging a person financially or professionally. (Acts 6:8-15) Litigation- Taking someone to court. Making them bend to your will legally. Some lawsuits are legitimate.(Acts 24:1-26:32;Rom. 13:1-5) Most the time this will damage relationships severely, and that is why Christians are commanded to litigate within the church instead of the courts.(1 Cor. 6:1-8) Then Murder-Of Course this means killing the person who opposes you, (Acts 7:54-58); and we all know that just killing is not the only kind of murder. When we harbor contempt or anger in our hearts, that is the same in Gods eyes.(1 John 3:15; Matt. 5:21-22)
So all the Peace Making solutions are what we are suppose to shoot for. Overlook an Offense, Reconciliation, and Negotiation, are more personal solutions. Mediation, Arbitration, and Accountability are more outsourced solutions. Since all of these are brought into focus in later chapters, we just won't go there now. Because I will be posting on these in length later. There is also some more really cool stuff in this chapter I want to get to before you all get to bored to read on.
So here we are, all of the above are responses to conflict. The escape and attack responses to conflict can be held at bay if we learn to look at conflict in a biblical way. Conflict is not always bad. Instead of looking for uniformity, look for unity. Not everybody is going to agree all the time, well duh! But not all conflict is good per say. But all conflict gives you a way to Glorify God, serve others, and grow to be like Christ.
How do we Glorify God in the midst of conflict. First, trust God. Second, Obey God. Third, imitate God. Fourth, Acknowledge God. If you are focusing on these four things than you are less likely to say and do things that you may later regret. A God-centered approach to conflict resolution is if you are focusing on pleasing God, as long as you are doing those things you are less interested in the others responses, like if they are being negative. If you choose not to Glorify God in conflict, than you show that you are a pretty selfish person. When "pleasing God is more important than holding onto worldly things and pleasing yourself, it becomes increasingly natural to respond to conflict graciously, wisely, and with self control." This brings glory to God.
Serving others in the midst of conflict is, in some cases, helping them figure out a different option to the problem they are trying to overcome. Or you may have a chance to carry the others "burdens." You can provide spiritually, emotionally, or provide materials they need to help with a problem. So instead of reacting defensively when they lash out, just try and figure out how you can help with that problem. This also brings glory to God. Conflict helps bring out moments to help others trust in Jesus Christ. Because the way you handle conflict other people will see and wonder how you handle things so well. This may present a way to open the door and introducing them to Jesus Christ. Last, but not least is, growing to be more like Christ. Conflict helps point out sinful attitudes and habits in your life so you can focus on changing those also. "God uses conflict to stretch and challenge you in carefully tailored ways." this is sometimes referred to "the ABC of spiritual growth: Adversity Builds Character. If you worry less about GOING through conflict, and focus on GROWING through conflict, you will enhance that process and experience the incomparable blessing of being conformed to the likeness of Christ."
2 more parts : The 4 G's of peace making. If you are going through conflict ask yourself these questions! How can I please and Glorify God in this situation? (Glorify God) How can I take responsibility for my part in the conflict? (Get the log out of your own eye) How can I lovingly serve others by helping them take responsibility for their part in this conflict? (Gently Restore) How can I demonstrate forgiveness and encourage a reasonable solution? (Go and be reconciled)
The last part is about "stewarding conflict." To be a steward is to look out for your masters interests, regardless if it is contradicting to what you believe or not, loosely put. So to steward conflict, you must look to your master, Jesus Christ, to find the best route.
All and all the first chapter is very lengthy, however very informative. It definitely made me evaluate how I confront conflict. Then the rest of the book is going to shine even more light on all of these subjects and more. I am looking forward to sharing the rest with you.

PeaceMaker
I have decided that as I read this book, "The Peace Maker" by Ken Sande, I am going to write about it. It is a book about biblical conflict resolution, which I am having major issues with right now. So I have not made it through the first chapter yet, but when I do. I will let you know what I think. and what it was about of course. Keep reading!!!
